I have been getting questions about Pololu's motor controller, the Jrk 12v12 I have recommended before as an alternate to the AMC and dMSHB.

I would encourage anyone trying this controller, and dedicate this thread to those looking for support.

That would be great! They can be controlled through the USO with simple serial commands, but a plugin would make it even simpler.

The hardware and motor driver is nothing to get excited about, but I agree that the whole package is excellent!
12A(30Apk) will handle most wiper motors with proper heatsinking.

Pololu is great for their software, ease of use and their documentation. The quality of their products is also very good, although I haven't worked with their mid-high power range.

I think it is fairly obvious: If you need more current than a device offers, you should look somewhere else.

You will fry the AMC/dMSHB before the Pololu, if that is what you mean by "coalesces".

ok guys some dumb questions coming
first i am hopless with electronics so i dont want to have to build a pcb so in my joyrider am i right in saying this is an off the shelf contrller that i can use instead of the amc and h bridge that i keep seeing plans for.

will it work with joyrider?
is it as good as tronics?
looking at the instructions it looks like i nead one for each motor (2 motors in joyrider) is this right?
is it harder to set up than tronics?

Yes, this is off the shelf controller as far as you don't have to make the PCB, solder components and program the chip.
You still have to interface it to computer, put cooling on it if necessary, connect your motors, potentiometers, etc...
You will need 1 for each motor.

This controller is better than the AMC in many aspects. It is much safer to use, great software is included, easy to adjust many things and you don't have to build it.
