Schnullerbacke wrote:Okay, got it working - I changed the angles a little bit to the inner side and after a 2-hours-racing-test no joint head clipped off.

The new dampening bar on the bottom of the back-side is also doing a great job.

How did you end up implementing the dampening bar. Do you have a picture of you setup? I had a failure of my dampeners last week but it may have been due to the fact that I was using a mixture of a 120lb and 70lb dampener on each side. I have switched to 2, 120lb dampeners on each side and they are holding up good so far.

Hi Mike,

I will take a few pictures the next days and post it here !
I don't know which specs my dampers have, but they are not VERY hard/stiff...

Chris

Here's the second video.

Better sound now, but unfortunately (due to my old cam) less picture quality :? !

But I'm working on it... ;D

Chris

Hi Chris,

You've got a real nice configuration there!
The driver's door rocks
Listen, I noticed you got a 7" tft display
for revs, speed etc. Can you propose any site to
buy one for my rig?
I would really appreciate it.

Regards,

John

Hi John,

I've got mine from ebay approx. one year ago.
I just searched on ebay and found this one: http://cgi.ebay.de/7-VGA-TFT-LCD-Touch-Screen-Monitor-for-Car-PC-GPS-G7_W0QQitemZ270524820797QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDE_Elektronik_Computer_Computer_Monitore_Flachbildschirme?hash=item3efc892d3d - it seems to be exactly the same model, but I've got mine from a German dealer/store, the one here's from Hong Kong.

All of the Touchscreens offered here at the moment have a native resolution of 800x480, but the one I have (and the one mentioned above), has 800x600 !

Hope this helps...
regards,
Chris

Hi Mike,

took a few fast shots and want to post it. I hope you can see how the things are attached.

Hi Chris, from the photos i can see that the actuator rods are extended almost fully. Shouldn' they be at half the distance when the seat stands still?
or it does not matter?

You're absolutely correct: The pictures were taken directly after having installed the angle joint heads and the damper bar, just for assembling everything together. THEN resp. AFTER THAT I balanced the seat unit and mounted the upper bar (where the upper joint heads on the lift rods are fixed) approx. 4-5cm down.

Right, they should be half way out when the seat is balanced well ! If my SCN5 initialize at profiler start, the lift rods are half way out, so everything's just fine ;) !
regards,
Chris

Thanks for the pics Chris.

I ended up using 2 dampeners on each side rated at 115lbs each. I felt that I was getting too much movement with the single ones.

Hi Chris,

What size wheel did you mount on your G25? I'm looking to upgrade the wheel on my G25 and I'm thinking of going with with a 320mm wheel that so that I can still retain the use of the paddle shifters for open wheel racing. I am also going to get a wheel that has 2 buttons similar to the original G25 wheel so that I can retain the buttons for use while driving (handy for talking whille driving in iRacing).

Do you see any issues with doing this and did you have any issues when you upgraded your wheel?
