SimXperience Profile Pack for X-Sim 2.1.0.4

New postby bvillersjr on 21.11.2009, 01:34

I spent some time testing and creating profiles for X-Sim 2.1.0.4 recently.

I have found that 2.1.0.4 behaves differently than 2.1.0.3 with regard to motion quality. Adding extra zeros to my 2.1.0.3 profiles and using them in 2.1.0.4 resulted in what I perceive to be a different feel. Strangely, this feel varied by game. IMHO, all of the SimBin games felt much more realistic. However, rFactor seems to have gotten much more jerky and I cant seem to smooth it out.

Here are some profiles that you can tweak to your liking. Most of these are created from scratch in 2.1.0.4 and are not 2.1.0.3 conversions.

Included are profiles for:

-GTRE
-Race07
-GTR2
-RFactor
-LFS

As always, I would appreciate any feedback that you are willing to offer! Please do not be afraid to hurt my feelings if you have constructive criticism.

@njracer

I hope to create an iRacing profile for 2.1.0.4 fairly soon.

How are the GTRE, Race 07, rFactor and LFS profile performing on your setup?

well i don't have lfs and i don't have rfactor installed atm, i'll reinstall it tomorrow.

I've tested the gtre/race07 profile for the bmw wtcc extreme and it rocks man. very well done. best profile i've tried so far for race07/evo. some of the lateral movements are a little long for me, used to the cxc iracing one, but its very nice.

i've played around with the speed and acceleration numbers a bit and so far 16000 speed and 400 acceleration feel the best for me.

i'll test the other profile tomorrow as well, need sleep right now.

looking forward to the iracing profile.

btw, tested the bmw wtcc extreme profile with the bmw extreme and the formula bmw. both cars felt very good.

what cars are the gtp for 2104??

Thanks for the feedback. It is hard to get!

The GTP cars come with GTR Evolution. I tested the profile with the Audi and the Vette.

Thanks Bernard. I'll reinstall 2.1.04 now and test these out. I'd really appreciate an iRacing profile for 2.1.04 as well.

Thank you Bernard! I will test these out a.s.a.p.
Still planning on making some sort of tutorial of adjusting profiles? that would be great.

Hey Bernard i tested out the profiles for rfactor and gtr-evo/race07 don't have gtr2 installed atm.

profiles are good, respond well good movement. one thing i don't like though is i think you have to much going on. it seems like the seat reacts to pavement changes and tilt weird on off camber turns up and down hills etc. i feel like its a bit to much going on. i think it feels more natural when you just have the lateral and longitudinal forces for acceleration/braking and left/right turning. it feels very natural with just these. just like i get when i'm driving my car for real.

also when i'm turning the seat moves well but then if i give it just a little more wheel to cut the corner the seat takes a huge dip and it throws me off. i wouldn't mind if the seat moved a little more as i am turning harder but it seems like from where i was to how much more it dips seems unnatural.

one thing i love though is you managed to get the crazy shake out of the seat with race07/evo. it was undrivable with the seat before for me. nice job there. acceleration and braking feel great in both rfactor and gtr evo. turning feels good to until you get the big dips.

overall very nice job on them. what settings would i have to change to change the severity of the dipping while corning??

hope you don't mind the negative in there but i want to give you my honest feedback. i'm sure others will have a different opinion but this was mine. :D

just trying to help

btw-are you using the 25% limiter and what are your speed/accel values??

Thanks for the feedback!!

I don't mind the negative at all, in fact it's what I hope for when I take the time to package these up and publish them here.

I agree that a simple g-force profile is far more realistic than the profiles that attempt to mix in all effects. Most of the profiles in the profile pack are only using lat / long and vert g-forces plus roll. I added roll because without it, I could not sense when a single tire went over a rumble strip or curb. However, body roll occurs, most especially in corners. For your taste, you may want to up the minimum and maximum number's by 5% for the Roll 1:1 G-Force.

If this doesnt work, try setting the minimums to 0 for the roll effect and reducing the % effect on axis.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Hi! Guys,

Just had a chance (time) to re-assemble my rig over the weekend...
Everything seems to be working fine.

But, I see everybody is using 2.1.0.4 now and I couldn't find a download link.
Is it already available or just for restricted beta testing?

I was willing to test some of these profiles with the new resolution 2.1.0.4 offers, sounds interesting.

Thanks all.
