First steps with X-Sim
There are some game configurations available in the forum already. But input-devices have different number of axes, combined throttle settings and different sliders. Because of that a configuration has to be made almost always. As the axes in X-SIM are displayed in realtime, this should be no problem.
In an ideal case you have the same input device like in the config information.
To get the software working you should know the following 3 configuration files:
1. The Yoda .yef configuration
This file contains informations, how Yoda handles the scanned ForceFeedback values.
The settings in this file just change if you switch your wheel with a joystick.
How a yef file can be created is shown in the yoda section.
2. The Force-Profiler .rnr file
The Force-Profiler is the simulator control software. It receives via the Force-Sender all Yoda and input-device informations from the game. In this applications the actions were assigned. For example: A simulator movement to right, if the joystick is turned right (simple joystick mode), or a simulator movement to left, while driving through a right curve (g-forces in ForceFeedback mode)
This file is created only for the first time. If the configuration is made, this dataset has to be sent to the Force-Profiler in order automate the process.
How such a configuration can be made, is shown in the Force-Profiler section.
3. Force-Sender .fsd file
This file contains informations, how the input-devices are handled. As well as all data for an automation.
If a game is started, this file contains the informations where yoda is located, which .yef file have to be used and the complete .rnr file, which contains the Force-Profiler informations. If the "Play Game" button is pressed, Yoda starts automatically, and the preassigned data is sent to the Force-Profiler. Thereby you can easily switch games and the Force-Profiler receives always the corresponding data.
After a configuration file is downloaded, the input-device hast to be configurated at first. How this could be made is shown in the Force-Sender section
To get familiarised with the software will take one or two evenings, surely. But with the diversity of different possible configurations, every setup with every input-device should be possible. Multiple input-devices are supported as well.
We would be pleased, if you could release your setup profiles with a short explanation in our forum.
